n the last two years we have seen an increase in energy costs, which affects the business sector. In this period we have also observed that there are more and more companies wanting to reduce their energy expenses and adhering to the installation of photovoltaic energy for self-consumption. The organisations that have taken this step towards energy transition, on the one hand, feel that this choice has allowed them to reduce their bills, and on the other hand, they have reduced their carbon footprint.
Habitualmente, as centrais solares fotovoltaicas são instaladas na cobertura dos edifícios, sempre que estas têm espaço e reúnem as obrigatórias condições de estabilidade. The retail sector was the great pioneer in the adoption of Solar Carports in Portugal, because in addition to its energy needs, this sector has in its mission the constant improvement of the experience and comfort of its customers. In the same way, the industry has been adopting this type of structures, offering their employees, partners, clients and visitors the protection of their vehicles, while reducing the energy bill and greenhouse gas emissions. But also the tourism sector is investing in this innovative concept, increasing the convenience to its guests with shaded parking areas. These establishments, along with others, also have the possibility of incorporating chargers for electric vehicles, making it easier to charge parked vehicles with clean energy.
For companies to reduce their energy costs and guarantee their energy independence, solar energy projects are a viable and proven alternative for those who have already taken this step towards energy transition.
